Grand as it is

The past few years in my life had been very grand,

very happy and I was at the top of my game.

Lately, I feel like I fell down from the top of an Eifel tower,

it’s just plain horrible.

It all happened when I was in Paris.

It’s a called city of Romance.

Walking down the avenue de Charles floquet,

where travelers pass under the chestnut trees,

I was smiling, as if I had everything in the world.

From there, I walked until I reached the famous tower,

designed by french engineer Alexandre Gustav Eifel,

the architect who designed the Quezon Steel Bridge.

Gazing at it’s beauty , I was just stunned.

Many people across the globe are in line to climb the tower.

I waited until I was at the elevator.

It’s very exciting!

When I reached the top, I breathed deep and felt the winter breeze

ran through my system, and the sight…Damn,I wouldn’t dare describe.

There are just no words!

I went there without bringing any camera,

I don’t want to bring a camera.

I just think that such beauty should be enjoyed by the eyes itself

and by the eyes only. Like the kind of respect you give

to the most sacred of the temples and relics.

Coming there was the prize I received, from some competition.

Where all there is you bet is everything that what works on your mind.

The visit of course was for a short while.

Giving you  a taste of a bitter-sweet life.

I came back in Manila with all that experiences with me.

I felt awesome and privileged.

But days had passed and then a year and counting,

I am crippled from a fall at the Eifel tower.

I can’t almost stand. Frustrated yet struggling,

I want to be back from the game I was good at,

but when I thought everything couldn’t get any worse,

I discovered that my brain is frozen,

struck by the winter wind of the grand days

and has never melted since.

Will there be good that will come

out from this global warming after all?

I am hoping and praying that passion

would ignite and melt this frozen mind.
